    Guided Tours

    Take a tour with a knowledgeable docent and learn more about the gardens, the plants within it and the history. Allow about 45 mins to 1 hour. Pick up a ticket at the Schoolhouse and meet at the main entry gate.

    Yoga in the Gardens

    Join our Garden yogi’s for a flowing yoga practice set in nature’s studio! The sounds of birds and waterfalls fill the air as you engage in a practice that invites more health and happiness into your life, pose by pose and breath by breath. Seasoned yogis and complete beginners alike will find benefit in this unique experience of communing with nature through yoga. Mats available.

    Chefs in the Gardens

    Live cooking demonstrations from local chefs from area restaurants, share culinary tips and recipes. Check out the website for the updated list of Chefs.

    Garden Volunteer Days

    Come and join us in the Gardens for an informal work session. Tools and gloves provided. Please bring water and a hat- instruction provided.

    Award winning photographer John Sheppard has conducted photography workshops in the Gardens for eight years. The workshops teach about the use of light, composition, exposure, and framing. Dave Stevens, a photography workshop student from Sun Lakes Arizona remarked “I learned much more than I expected about outdoor photography.  John explained about using depth-of-field to enhance scenery photos, shutter speed to enhance water effects and more.”   Participants are asked to bring a camera and tripod.

    Painting in the Gardens

    Come join us for a fun day of painting colorful alpine flowers at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. All levels of painters are welcome and must have their own supplies. We will be working on composition, design, color mixing and how to simplify to make a beautiful painting. Workshops will start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. We will take a lunch break in the garden, so bring a sack lunch to enjoy amidst the flowers. Contact Cheryl to register at cheryl@cherylstjohn.com or 303-947-4428.
